I never took physics... I left high school that year. SO... I found this quick explanation of superstring theory pretty cool (and quick!)

Also, am I the only one who finds humor in the name "Large Hadron Collider"?  Isn't that a bit of an understatement?  I mean, how about "Supersize Hadron Collider," at least?

I read Briane Greene's fascinating book about the Superstring Theory titled An Elegant Universe. He uses everyday metaphors to explain the theory which gives a good frame of reference.

yes, I was just about to recommend The Elegant Universe but someone beat me to it!! I read it poolside in Turkey. (yeah, I'm special...) but it really is a good book if you're interested in science but not exactly sciencey :]
