QotD: A Vox "Bucket List"
If you had one month to live, what five things would you do?
Suggested by Acerebel.
- Invite all of my immediate and extended family, as well as my friends, to a vacation/retreat. I'd use my savings to pay for those that I could. I'd hire a videographer and photographer to capture the event. I'd use the time to sit with each person to tell them, in depth, what they mean to me. I'd tell my brother to relax and talk to my parents again. Then, we'd do some fun things -- lavish dinners, hoola hoop contest, craft day, talent show.... ok, maybe not the talent show.
- Make a will. Shouldn't take that long because I don't have that much stuff! I'd also pay off my last debt (school loan), and plan my funeral. Maybe I'd make a slideshow or something for my funeral. This way, nobody has to figure out what I would have wanted, and fight over it.
- I'd write letters to anyone who couldn't come to my retreat. For example, I'd write a letter to my junior high school music teacher to tell him how he helped me love music, and in turn, explore a different side of myself. I'd tell my dentist that he's taken a lot of stress out of my life because I feel confident in his expertise with my dental issues. I'm sure there are some others I'd like to say thanks to.
- I'd spend a bunch of time with my honey.
- I'd visit Ireland or South Africa, I'm not sure which. Ireland because it's my heritage and my namesake, and South Africa because I've always wanted to go and I think I would feel a deep emotional connection there.
